Abstract: The extraction method of the volatile oil from traditional Chinese medicine consists of Steam distillation， expression method， carbon dioxide supercritical fluid extraction and microwave extraction Based on the analysis of merit and demerits of each extraction method available currently of the volatile oil of traditional Chinese medicine， this paper first makes a comparison and then concludes that a specific extraction method shall be applied according to different conditions to ensure the maximum level of extraction yield without any loss of medicine Key words: volatile oil of traditional Chinese medicine; Green extraction; supercritical fluid extraction
